The 9th PANAF Youth Congress
The Congress theme for this year is Responsible and Sustainable Tourism, aptly dubbed “Fun is Forever in the Philippines”. We need to promote a kind of tourism that gives back to the natural environment instead of abusing it. The government, business owners and all tourists must work together to promote a culture that prioritizes long-term preservation over short-term gain.
With its 7,000+ islands and a wealth of natural resources and settings, the Philippines is still a fresh, largely-unexplored tourist destination, but there is an ever-pressing need to strike a balance between promoting local tourist hotspots and maintaining the ecological balance for the preservation of these natural wonders.
Through the participation of the students in the Congress, we hope that they will be inspired to take on a bigger cause and contribute to the movement that espouses Responsible Tourism.
The PANAF Youth Congress is a half-day learning event that seeks to augment textbook theory with first-hand exposure to some of the industry’s experts and thought leaders. The event will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater, Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City.
